Academy-Award winning actress and political activist, Susan Sarandon is a native to New York City. She was born in Jackson Heights, Queens and now lives in outside the city in Westchester County, New York. Sarandon is best known for iconic roles in Thelma & Louise and Dead Man Walking, for which she won an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She's also known for her humanitarian work, being a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has received the Action against Hunger Humanitarian Award in 2006.
